DAN "The Fit Ferret"
Dan "The Fit Ferret" has slowly been evolving and changing as he continues his journey of self discovery one step at a time, lesson after lesson.
Former Laborer and Elementary School teacher, Dan is now a Certified Personal Trainer through the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and works full time as a trainer and CEO of Better University, dedicating countless hours to his craft and own journey. Spending most of his young life as a heavy set individual, body image and the reality of the struggle are all too real for him and it has been one of the contributing factors to one of his primary principles of fitness. When a client first approaches Dan for assistance in their journey, if their obsession with aesthetics and the number on a scale is their driving factor and he cannot help them see the deeper intrinsic motivator, he will unfortunately turn them away as that mentality is not a good fit for the Fitlosophy Life Style. Everyone's journey is unique, but as he has discovered through his own journey and assisting others, a focus on scale numbers and aesthetics is a toxic frame of mind that leads to doing harmful things to the body. Rather ... the prime directive of Fitlosophy is to focus on moving well, and fueling the body correctly, aesthetics are an effect of this cause and come naturally when the other two are maintained. As a collegiate football athlete, he was introduced to power lifting and always makes room for it in his training routines for building muscle and strength on top of flexibility and feats of body-weight control and circus antics. Competetive Obstacle Course Racer - Retired Strong Man Competitor - Current When not training, or spending time learning and honing his craft, Dan can be found spending time with his good friends and his loyal compatriot Odysseus "Ody the Dog." While physical health is important, social and mental health cannot be ignored or forgotten. Creating a healthy balance in all aspects of life is a key to inner peace and success. Easy going, and patient, he has vowed to change the world through leading by example, one life at a time. “Carpe Diem.” |
